It's been a while

Hey everybody! It’s been quite some time since I’ve been in touch, so I hope all is well. First off I’d just like to say hello and good luck this to year to my many friends out on both the Futures Tour and the Cactus Tour. I’ve been keeping an eye on the website and wish you all the best this year. I am still planning on coming down to Phoenix to play a little on the Cactus Tour, but not for a couple of months still.

Life has been a little crazy here in Oregon over the last couple of months. I started working as the Communications Coordinator for the OGA and as an assistant golf professional for the OGA Golf Course. I have thoroughly enjoyed becoming a part of the family there, and am looking forward to all of what we have to come this summer! It’s been so much fun to work in advertising and I can’t even begin to describe how much I’ve learned. It’s been a well-needed, and well-deserved change from my last 4 years on the road.

I’ve recently started working again on my golf game and putting together my schedule for the rest of the year including the Washington State Women’s Open, the Oroville Golf Tournament, U.S. Women’s Open qualifying and a few more. I’m in the process of structuring a financial plan that I will be unveiling shortly in hopes of funding the rest of the year including Duramed Future’s Tour Qualifying at the end of the year. My plan is to go to the qualifier so that I have the chance of playing next year, based on my abilities to raise money throughout this year. I’m definitely getting the bug again to start working on my game, I just need to continue to slowly move forward again and enjoy this time in my life.

Last week I completed the final stage in becoming a part of the PGA Program by passing my rules test. I am now ‘officially’ in the program and will be able to take part in various pro-ams and tournaments here in the Pacific Northwest!

Larry and I have been enjoying spending time with my side of the family. Our new-found guilty pleasure has been ping-pong at my parents’ house. My brother has joined in as well as a few friends and we find ourselves yelling the typical obscenities as we would on the golf course!  (Kind of ironic, I’ve been taking a break from golf only to get frustrated with ping-pong)

Life has brought us a couple of new opportunities that we are currently considering, one of which is moving into a new house in Woodburn. Exciting, nerve-wracking, and scary are all words that come to mind right about now, but we haven’t been able to make up our minds as to what we want to do yet. So for now, we are still living in Wilsonville, laughing daily at our cats and enjoying spending quality time together!

I look forward to the next few months, getting back into competition again and traveling a bit perhaps? Feel free to drop me an email with any fundraising ideas that come to mind! I could use any help I can get at this point! I hope this finds you all well and happy!

Take care,

Julie
