Julie Scores an Ace at Q-School

September 19, 2007 - a day after celebrating her 27th birthday, Julie made her third hole-in-one, since turning professional in 2002. It happened on the 154 yard, 11th hole of the Arnold Palmer Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.

“There was a good breeze hurting us from the left so I took a little off of my 6-iron by drawing it into the wind," said Julie. "The ball hit the green and bounced right and I just kept watching it get closer. I started thinking, ‘it could go in’ and before my thought finished, the ball disappeared, and I was going nuts!”

The best part of the shot?  “I don’t know if it was better that it happened during LPGA Q-School, or the fact that my family, including my husband, was able to be there to see it,” Julie added.

Julie admits that even though it was exciting and gave her a huge adrenaline rush, she had to move on quickly and realize that there was still a lot of golf to be played.

LPGA Qualifying School was held at both the Dinah Shore Tournament Course and the Arnold Palmer Course at Mission Hills Country Club September 19-22. Julie went on to shoot 76, 77, missing the cut (150) by three strokes. She will be heading to Venice, Florida for the second location of the first stage of Q-School, next week.
